Do I have to treat the entire nail,
or can I just repair a small area?
One of the most amazing benefits of silk wrapping is the
ability to mend a split or torn nail, or fill in a chipped
area. Full instructions are given in the booklet and DVD.
What is the difference between silk wraps and
fibreglass wraps?
Silk wraps are more commonly used on natural nails, whereas
the fibreglass wraps are traditionally used on extensions.
Fibreglass is a touch stronger than silk but does not
completely disappear when you apply the resin. Both silk
and fibreglass perform the same and it really is up to
individual preference.
Can I wear nail polish over nail wraps?
Yes. Always remember to remove polish with a NON-ACETONE
remover, so that you don't damage the wrap surface.
What do each of the bottles do?
Nail Prep - This cleans the nail surface of dirt and oils.
It also dehydrates the nail.
Resin - Adheres the silk and fibreglass wraps to the nail
plate and forms the protective coat.
Activator - This sets the resin hard.
Brush Restore - Used to prevent the activator brush from
setting hard.
2-in-1 Varnish - This acts as a topcoat and protects the
resin from moisture and gives a good gloss finish.
How long do the wraps last?
As your natural nail grows over 2-3 weeks, you will find
that you will have a gap between the cuticle area and
wrap. To maintain, this area will need to be wrapped,
this is called an 'infill', which is described step-by-step
in the booklet and DVD.
How do I remove the nail wraps?
Submerge finger tips in a bowl of acetone based nail polish
remover for about 5 minutes and gently rub over with one
of the orange sticks supplied, until the wrap comes off.
Will my nails look damaged after I have removed
the nail wraps?
After removal, push back the cuticles, buff over the nails
with the 3 stage buffing files and apply a good quantity
of cuticle oil. This should ensure the nails remain looking
healthy.
